Continuing his exploration of luxury, identity, and coded status symbols, Lunch at Van Cleef offers a witty and visually arresting take on modern aspiration. In this work, Chima Padua once again collapses two cultural spaces — the high-luxury heritage of Van Cleef & Arpels and the everyday ritual of lunch — to provoke reflection on taste, class, and performance.
Executed in acrylic and marker, the surface is richly layered yet immediate, with flashes of line, form, and irreverent colour that carry Padua’s unmistakable energy.
